Neighborhood Watch Message Series | Moving From Fear to Embrace

February 16, 2020 @ 9:00 am - March 8, 2020 @ 1:00 pm

In an increasingly isolated and individualistic age, neighboring matters more than ever. At a time when few of us know our neighbors and hospitality seems like a lost art, how can we restore and reimagine what it means to be a good neighbor, deeply rooted in community and place?

This four week series examines our responsibility to our neighbors and the importance of embracing our community. The term “neighborhood watch” is often all about a fear-based mentality: “We must watch over our neighborhood because others are out to get us.” This series will flip that image on its head: rather than fearing others, we must widen our idea of what our “neighborhood” is.

Two gatherings to choose from each Sunday: 9am & 10:30am

As modern societies tend towards polarization, what is the role of the Church in overcoming the natural tendencies to tribalize and demonize?
