LEGACY OFFERING

Every Year In December

Once a year in December, we bring a special offering—one that often requires sacrifice

and one that builds a legacy for future generations.

This offering enables us to take giant steps forward

in fulfilling the big opportunities God has placed before us!

Give Now

“Because I have set my heart on the house of my God, I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house…Who among you is ready and willing to join in the giving?”

1 CHRONICLES 29:3-6

WAYS TO GIVE

We have several options for you to choose from that make giving to our church easy, safe and secure. You can opt to give online, through smart giving via text messaging on your mobile device or during one of our gatherings including Legacy Sunday, December 3rd. We continue to receive Legacy Offering throughout December.

New for 2023, Broad River Church now accepts stock donations! If you’d like to donate stock, please make sure to do so by Dec 10 to ensure the transfer has time to complete by Dec 31, so you can take advantage of the tax benefits in 2023.

We are truly grateful for your donation and hope the convenience and simplicity of online giving will be helpful to you. You can use our secure platform to quickly and easily give online by card or ACH. We’ve also partnered with Overflow to allow you to donate stock, bonds, or mutual funds.

Giving is as easy as sending a text! To try it out, send LEGACY plus the amount to 84321. For example ‘Legacy 100’ for a $100 donation.

If you prefer, you can still give during one of our weekend gatherings by filling out a provided envelope and placing it in one of the offering containers. You can use this envelope to give by cash or check.

Our Receiving Partners for This Year’s Offering

Elementary Age School in Morazon, Honduras

We have been serving and partnering with an elementary-age school since 2019. It’s a natural fit for our church since we have a good group of Honduran natives as members. In 2021, we were able to help the school recover from the massive hurricanes that hit that area, including rebuilding perimeter walls and repairing flood damaged classrooms and bathrooms. We are excited to continue serving this school in 2023. The whole while we will be looking for ways to empower local ministry and long term mission connection.

Christian Fellowship Church In India

Our church has been in partnership with Christian Fellowship in southwest India since 2013. Serving the Odisha and Chhattisgarh states, Christian Fellowship has more than 120 churches spreading the good news of Jesus. In 2021 we were able to respond in a big way when India was particularly hard hit by COVID-19, with a focus on providing food for thousands of widows and children. In 2022 we continued our support for many Christian Fellowship pastors who are serving people in need there. We look to provide ongoing ministry support well over 100 pastors there, in addition to general support of the overall work of God in Southwest India.

Haifa Baptist Church, Haifa Israel

Since 2019, our church has been in relationship with several churches in Israel, including in the city of Haifa and the city of Nazareth. In 2021, we were able to help the church recover from a bad mildew and mold problem keeping them from gathering after a long time of not being in the building due to COVID-19. We’re excited about being able to help even more this year.

Our First Missionaries in the Middle East

To protect the important work this team is doing, we can’t list their names here, or even name the city they are in, but we can share those details in private sessions, so just ask. Broad River Church’s first missionaries were sent abroad in 2022, and they are in an unreached, unengaged people group in the Middle East.

Serving People in Need in Fairfield County, CT

Although the majority of each year’s Legacy Offering goes to our partners overseas, we have always been about serving people in need in our own community. In 2020, our church responded in a big way to the COVID crisis by giving away over $30,000 in food assistance, utility help, housing help and other crucial needs. This kind of help has continue through and past the pandemic including new support for the Norwalk Senior Center, serving Norwalk’s elderly population. This is one way we are able to BE the church in our city and state.
